McDonald’s Social Media Strategy
Part of their key learnings is ‘walking before running’ which was further explained with the importance of coming up with the right strategy vs leaping into tactical activations. I totally agree!
After reading a couple of social media articles and presentations such as this, a few key learnings kept popping up so here’s a summary. Hopefully this can kick off your social media adventures as brands:
- Listen
- Enable participation, feedback and conversations
- React quickly and keep it casual
- Keep an open mind
- Collaborate - internally and externally
- Fuel the discussions
Bottom line : Develop a relationship. Just like any other relationship, it’s built on the fact that both parties are already at least interested if not care for each other. There will be disagreements/arguments but we all know that with some honest and genuine efforts we all end up patching things up. And you know what happens after….
